Undergoing weight training

In the game of golf your strength and stamina matters a lot. To achieve this, you need to supplement your regular workout with intensive weight training exercises.

Weight training exercises:

Weight training exercises can be divided into many groups depending upon the targeted muscle regions of the body. In golf, the shoulders, calf, and elbows matter a lot as they frequently come into play. There are different ways in which you can undergo weight-training program. You can either use free weights like dumbbells or else you can use machines specially targeted at different areas of the body. Equipments also have their own pros and cons, which need to be evaluated before making a choice. Basically, golfers can use both free weight and equipments in their daily workouts. Dumbbells score over bulky equipment in terms of convenience and cost. They are also adjustable and beginners can steadily increase their weight after a couple of weeks. Weight training needs to be done under the guidance of an expert physical instructor. Instructors are also able to monitor your workout and make necessary changes. Extreme caution needs to be maintained during your workout because; unsupervised workouts can lead to mistakes, which far from being beneficial can cause serious health damages and injuries.

Advantages:

If done correctly, weight-training exercises have many advantages in golf. Firstly, strength matters in having perfect and effortless swing shots. It is therefore very necessary that you build up the power in your muscles. Powerful muscles are less susceptible to fatigue and aches or pains. You can also survive on the field for long hours if your body helps you along. Strength training exercises help a great deal in increasing the muscle ratio. You also burn more calories if you have more muscle mass in your body. Thus it helps you to maintain your overall fitness level and stamina. Minor discomfort like backaches can be easily overcome with regular weight training exercises.

By undergoing weight training, you are not only able to improve your game of golf but also maintain your fitness level for long years to come.
