Staying flexible before you begin the game

Playing golf without flexibility is almost impossible. All those classic shots need ample amount of energy and flexibility. With the help of few exercises you too can stay flexible before your big game.

Tips to stay flexible:

Before beginning with the game, there are certain rules you need to follow to gain and maintain flexibility. Basically, any physically demanding game begins with warm up exercises. You need to warm up for at least fifteen to twenty minutes. To warm up, you can ride a bicycle and even take a short walk. Warm-up exercises are usually followed by stretching exercises. You should stretch both before and after the game. This not only promotes flexibility but also prevents injury to your muscles. Stretching improves your balance and flexibility by warming up all your major muscles. . Most golfers also ignore stretching exercises after the game is over. However, by stretching after the game, you can relax and rejuvenate your energy. Without stretching, you are likely to get tired and washed out. There are some other ways to stay flexible before a game. You can practice Yoga. This is excellent for total body flexibility. Simple stretching exercises need to be done religiously everyday. Beginning these exercises a day or two before your big day is not a very good option. Avoid eating heavy food or excessive fats at least a week prior to the game. This induces fatigue and sluggishness. Eating a heavy meal before the game is an absolute no- no. Instead consume foods, which provide you with energy and stamina, yet help you maintain your flexibility. Before any game, you should also be careful to get enough sleep and rest. Tired body is rarely ever flexible.

Advantages:

Flexibility is the key component of Golf. You need excellent balance and gait, to play your game. This can be achieved only through flexibility. Flexibility also prevents injury during play. Other important aspects like Stamina, and strength are also maintained due to flexibility.

However, consult your physician before going on a new workout plan or diet changes.
