Play practice rounds prior to the actual game

The best way to prepare for the big match of golf is by planning practice rounds ahead of the actual game.

Practice rounds:

Practice rounds have almost become a tradition in the golfing community. Players find such rounds absolutely necessary for understanding the feel of the field and planning strategies ahead of time. They also help players to visualize their shots effectively. Minor faults can be also corrected ahead of time or modified suitably. Practice rounds provide a much-needed insight in the game as well. Minor distractions can also be understood and promptly dealt with. It also helps players to check the effectiveness of the golf equipments, specially the clubs. Practice rounds also prepare players mentally for their big game.

Tips and tricks:

While deciding to play practice rounds, your own personality should be carefully taken into consideration. Some players can get uncomfortable during practice rounds and may find their anxiety increasing. For most players however, practice rounds are highly essential for boosting their confidence. Before practicing shots, getting the feel of the field is very important. Carefully observing the field and noting as many details as possible enables players to plan their strategies in advance. Observing means making a conscious study of the field. For instance players need to be aware of the speed and slope of the greens. Different shades of the grass need to be carefully observed as sometimes they can create distractions. You also need to be aware of the different trouble areas on the green. You can then measure the distance of the fairway hazards and plan effective strategy for the same. Marking your favourate spot on the green and planning a perfect putt is quiet possible after the practice round. However, the players need to guard against over confidence in case of a good practice round and most of all guard against despair and anxiety in case of a bad one.

With the help of practice rounds, players can increase their chances of achieving success by making use of all their resources and game tactics effectively.
