Perfecting the bunker shot

Bunker shot is the most challenging shot in Golf. It involves hitting the shot from a sand bunker. Perfecting such shots are highly difficult yet equally necessary to improve your game and lower your handicap.

Bunker shots:

Bunker shots have the reputation of having the mean streak. It is especially difficult for amateurs to correctly understand the technique and hit the shots accurately. Sand traps or bunkers are the hazards on field and hitting the ball from the sand can be a daunting task. However, with a few tips you can improve your shots and, from your game’s point of view this will be nothing less than perfection.

Important tips:

With a few techniques you will be able to blast your way successfully out of the bunkers. First of all, you need to have a secure and accurate stance. Usually, while hitting from sand bunkers you need to dig in your feet firmly in the sand. By planting yourself in the sand you can maintain your balance and stay firm as you hit the shot. The next important factor is the use of your club. You need to open up the face of the club neither too much nor too little. However your stance and other techniques also differ based on your position in the sand bunker and the moistness or the dryness of the bunkers themselves. For instance, the techniques for hitting from downhill sand positions differ from the elusive long sand shots. You need to brace yourself differently in each position. Thus, your insight also matters a lot while dealing with such shots. Your each movement right from your back swing to the follow through needs to be precise and flawless. Try and don’t rush into and out of the shot. The chances are that you will mess up the situation horribly. At the same time you should try and avoid extra cautiousness as it can lead to anxiety and undue stress. Be careful of the distance and your position and allow your expertise to take over. A perfect bunker shot will be inevitable.
