Knowing the motivation factors for the game

Golfers strive for perfection by practicing vigorously and following all the guidelines required for the game. However, very little attention is paid to the motivational factor, which has the capacity to either make or break the game.

Why motivation matters?

Preparing the body without preparing the mind is not going o help much if one has to face tough opponents. Golf can get pretty intimidating if competition gets tough and the pressure to perform takes a toll on your game. Well-developed skills need an addition of something extra that helps the golfer in such tough situations. Motivational factors make a big difference in the way you view the game and your abilities. Motivation makes a difference between playing mechanically and playing energetically with spirit and style.

Motivational factors:

Motivation is any force that keeps one going. It can be positive as well as negative. There are many positive motivational factors that distinguish great golf players from mediocre ones. These great players have amazing drives related to concentration, emotional control, tension management, anxiety control etc. concentration in golf cannot be achieved by practice or strenuous workouts. It can be achieved only with extreme mental preparation and the will to succeed. Emotional control is yet another factor that helps players to have a control on their feelings whether they are winning or losing the game. Anxiety control and tension management are other key factors that keep the players going against all odds. It also contributes significantly to that amazing sportsmanship quality that sets golf apart from other games. Golfers also need to have the power of visualization in order to set targets and plan for the future without getting complacent. Motivation also helps previously beaten players to rise up again and show their skills. However negative motivational factors like negative self-thoughts, aggression and extreme desire to win can hamper the game. With careful control, motivation can be built without regressing to such extreme levels.

These motivational factors make a big difference between the way you play your game and the way you play your Golf.
