There are many rules about positioning yourself and the club before stroking the ball. However, very little attention is given to the comfort level of the individual as he deals with the ball. Comfortable Stance position is important as it determines your chances of accurately analyzing the target and formulating a correct game plan. Sometimes, incorrect stance position, can affect your game since your body does not coordinate well with what you have in mind. A correct stance position allows players to stroke the ball easily and effortlessly.
Analyzing your stance position:
We need to distinguish between a comfortable stance position and a correct stance position. Sometimes players sacrifice the technically correct position in the favor of a comfortable, but an incorrect one. For instance some players open their feet too wide. This can be comforting, but your chances of achieving success are limited. Analysis of your current stance position is therefore necessary to understand your habits and make appropriate changes for the same. A comfortable, yet correct stance position is a perfect coordination between body parts like arms, shoulder and feet. This physical position is supported amply with the accurate position of the club. Players need to follow some basic rules about each of these body parts. Firstly, you need to place your feet in a correct position by opening them neither too far apart nor too close. The positioning of your feet also depends upon the length of the club. Secondly, the arms should be straight and should hang down freely; no stiffness should be felt in the arms or the shoulders. Thirdly, you need to tilt your shoulders slightly. This helps you to have adequate strength and balance in your favor. Finally, you need to hold your club the right way to finish off in style. A correct stance position therefore maximizes performance and enables you to improve your game without much hassle.
