Avoid poor shots

There are poor shots, which can badly affect your standing in the round. You need to literally avoid these shots to improve your game and maintain consistency in your play.

Poor shots:

Poor shots are played unintentionally by players and happen either because of technical faults like poor alignment of ball or they may happen due to inadequate knowledge about the game. There are different types of poor shots, the more famous and disastrous ones being the hook shots, slice shots, pull shots fat and shank shots etc. Most of these shots prevent you from utilizing your potentials to the fullest

Important guidelines:

There are different ways of training yourself out of such shots. Many a time, we unconsciously reinforce poor shots by deviating from simple techniques. The most common reasons of hitting poor shots are the use of wrong clubs, poor foundation and lack of confidence. Golf clubs play far more important role in your game than you give them credit for. You need to select proper clubs from many others depending upon the nature of shot and the characteristics of the clubs themselves. Understand the different makes of the club and also the different requirements of shots before selecting your clubs. This will help you to accurately arm yourself for the game ahead. You also need to have a firm foundation in your play to avoid poor shots. In other words, you need to have strong basic skills, adequate knowledge about different techniques and also adequate knowledge about the rules and regulations of the game. If minor faults are not controlled right in the beginning, poor shots become indispensable. By toning up your basics, you can overcome poor shots easily. The most important factor that compounds your poor shots is the pressure factor. Extreme stress and fear of generating poor shots can take shape in the form of misjudged shots very easily. It is therefore essential to lessen your stress by regular relaxation and meditation. By following these guidelines and correcting your techniques you can guard yourself against poor shots and consequently improve your game.
